| The
Board met at the home of Berkely Meigs and Michael McCaleb transact Club
business, and to enjoy a potluck meal. (Suzanne Amstutz was late due to
traffic, so there was considerable anxiety until she arrived with the official
Garlic Bagels!)
The entertainment other than the meeting was a brief tour of the new hot-tub patio on the east side of the house (see the pictures below). Several applications for membership were reviewed and approved. Members, visit the membership list to see the steady growth of The Graduates. We now have over seventy members! Updates were given on events: The Gatsby Party on July 28 was considered a great success, as was the participation by The Graduates in the Fiesta Carriage Decorating activity, as the guests of Santa Barbara Newcomers on August 1. The Tapas Gourmet Dinner, hosted by the Kolvas and organized by Jerry Jensen, was a new and truly delicious dining experience. Other events are still being planned: Book discussion, Shanghai Deal 'em, bridge, wine tasting, classical music listening and discussion,a western party and a Graduates mini-film festival! Watch the web site and check your e-mail for details! The board will send an announcement encouraging volunteers to invent new activities and join committees for those being planned. the Board of Directors for The Graduates is not "all work and no play"!
