Music Around Town/Dancing
The steps taught would be something one could use for any ballroom-type dancing, such as the fox trot, waltz, rhumba, or some Latin dances. Total beginners have been known to be tripping the light fantastic after just one lesson! Even if you know how to dance, come and join us. This event is open and should be fun for both singles and couples because the individuals who participate may dance with various partners as we practice the different steps. The focus will be on individuals learning to identify the musical rhythms and timing they hear in the music and then realize what steps they have learned to dance to that timing. According
to Paul Hermanson, "Who cares what the name of the dance is?
Paul will teach us 6-10 basic patterns that can then be applied to different timings and tempos of music. Paul says that if people can learn those basic patterns, they can dance to almost all of the music they hear! Our SB Newcomers contact was Marge Graves. Thanks! |
