Hiking - The Cold Spring Trail -- Saturday, October 9, 9:00 AM

Elden?Cold Spring Trail, East Fork, October 9, 9:00 AM

If this announcement looks familiar, it should. Elden and I enjoyed the September hike on Cold Springs Trail so much (just the two of us!) that we're offering a reprise of that scenic and interesting hike in October.

Join us! We two will hike no matter what, but it's so much fun with a group! Good conversation with good friends!

This is a great way to get/stay in shape; we feel absolutely righteous when we enjoy a light lunch after the hike!

Directions: Take Cold Springs Road (turn toward the mountains at the fire station on Sycamore Canyon Road – Rt. 192; it's between Ashley Road and Stoddard Lane), turn right on Mountain Drive, go 1/2 mile and park near the creek crossing. Be on time or even early; the parking fills quickly on nice mornings!

Description: Beautiful trail in lush canyon with creek, small pools (really small this year!), and alder trees. Chaparral vegetation at the higher elevation section of the trail. The 1.5 miles each way is a moderately easy hike, following the canyon.

Helpful hints: Be sure to bring drinking water.
Friends: Bring 'em all!
Cost: None, unless you join us for brunch on-your-own afterward.
Reservations: None -- Rain cancels ... (fat chance!)
