Art tour at Carpinteria's Lima Bean Factory, and Dinner! -- May 6, 6PM
-
Update:

Lima Bean Factory and Dinner at the Palms in Carpinteria May 6th.

We will meet at the Lima Bean Factory in Carpinteria at 6 PM, Thursday, May 6th.

The Palm Avenue lofts (as it is now referred to) is located at 410 Palm Ave.
From Santa Barbara, take 101 to Carpinteria Ave. Follow Carpinteria Ave to Palm Ave and turn right. (You could also take the Reynolds exit) The little map in the paper shows the location right next to the tracks. Parking will be where you can find it.

After touring the open studios, we will continue on to The Palms Restaurant located at Linden and 7th Avenues (and totally over power them). They don't officially take reservations, but they know we are coming and we are giving them a head (tummy) count. We are a large enough group that we may be in two rooms. This adventure is a bit different and we hope it will be fun.
Please dress casually. See you all soon.
Ellen

Carpinteria is known as the "Valley of the Flowers." Long an agricultural community, it was at one time the lima bean capital of the world. Because of its ideal climate, it has been selected as home for a multi-million dollar ornamental horticultural business.

On Thursday evening, May 6th, starting at 6 PM, The historic Lima Bean Factory in Carpinteria will be open for an art tour.
Apparently, the idea was to have artists living and working in their space, something like The Brewery in LA, but on a tiny scale. Anyway, the residents are not all artists as originally planned, but about a third of them are,
and some will have their studios open to the public (that's us) on May 6th starting at 6 PM.

It would help if you send a return e-mail to me and let me know if you are interested.
That will tell us if we need a picnic bench or a whole restaurant for dinner.

Thanks!
Ellen Lilley
