Cold Spring Trail, July 9, 9:00 AM
 

This is a great way to get/stay in shape; we feel absolutely righteous when we enjoy a light lunch after the hike! 

Directions: Take Cold Springs Road (turn toward the mountains at the fire station on Sycamore Canyon Road – Rt. 192; it's between Ashley Road and Stoddard Lane), turn right on Mountain Drive, go 1/2 mile and park near the creek crossing. Be on time or even early; the parking fills quickly on nice mornings!

Description: Beautiful trail in lush canyon with creek, pools , and alder trees. Chaparral vegetation at the higher elevation section of the trail. The 1.5 miles each way is a moderately easy hike, following the canyon. Sometimes we hike the steeper East Fork, but the group will decide which to take as we begin.

Helpful hints: Be sure to bring drinking water.
