---Camping Out - Sage Hill -- Overnight -- August 12-13, 2005
Before you start reading -- here are the "procedures" -- first things first!

It's Camping Time for the Graduates in Paradise! 

It is official! There will be two nights of Graduate camping August 12 and 13, 2005 this year at the Los Padres National Forest at Sage Hill Camp Grounds.  We have reserved the same spacious, shady camp site we had last year. 

Friday and Saturday night Graduate campers can start setting up their tents around 3:00 PM on August 12, 2005.  Since the Graduates will have the camp site starting on Friday, the Graduates that plan on staying just Saturday night can come up anytime on Saturday to set up their tents. 

What you will need ' Tent if you want one, sleeping bag or blankets, flashlight, bug repellent, camping chairs or beach chairs, cooler, lots of ice, personal items for an overnight stay, roll of paper towels, a lightweight warm jacket long pants, shorts for the day or whatever you are comfortable in, swim suits'. 

The cost for the Graduate Camp Out is as follows:  Friday and Saturday Night Camping Fee is $25 per person.  Saturday Night Only Camping Fee is $20 per person.  Sunday morning Breakfast only, no over night is still $20 per person. Please make your check out to The Graduates and send them to Berkeley Meigs

General Schedule

Friday Afternoon Cocktails 

Camper Provided                        - BYOB (whatever you like to drink and lots of ice)

Committee Provided                   - Munchies and other finger foods

Camper Provided                        - Friday night's dinner meal is the responsibility of the Camper, you can eat in camp or go out for dinner in the San Ynez/Solvang area ' remember reservations are a must for some restaurants. 
 

Saturday Morning 

Committee Provided                    - Continental Breakfast ' sweet rolls and fruit, coffee, tea, and juice

Camper Provided                        - Other Breakfast foods and lots of ice. 

Saturday Lunch                         - Camper Provided ' you are on your own and don't forget lots of ice. 

Saturday Afternoon Cocktails 

Camper Provided                        - BYOB (whatever you like to drink and lots of ice.)

Committee Provided                    - Munchies and other finger foods 

Saturday Dinner

Camper Provided                        - Campers main choice of meat, fish, or vegetable to grill, and a side dish to share with the other campers (hors d' oeuvres, dessert, or salad, your choice), and what ever you want to drink BYOB and lots of ice.

Committee Provides                    - Corn on the cob, Cooked Beans, plastic plates, utensils, napkins, cups and condiments. Components to construct S'mores will be provided for entertainment and eating around the camp fire.
 

Sunday Morning Breakfast

Camper Provided                        - Camper needs to be present and in line to receive breakfast ' unless the camper is on his death bed, breakfast will not be served to anyone in his/her tent.

Committee Provided                   - A hot Breakfast that includes, Beacon and Scrambled Eggs, muffins, pancakes with syrup, butter, juice, coffee, tea, sweet rolls left over from Saturday if any are still there. 

Break Camp by Noon Sunday ' wait 365 days to do all of this again in 2006. 

Camping Activities, Tentative Times and Reservation Requirements. 

Friday Night Activities Available in the Santa Ynez and Solvang Areas

Friday night: 

       The PCPA Theater Fest Presentation of Brigadoon ' The Classic Broadway Musical by Rogers and Hammerstein.  It  is important that you make your reservations early for this Friday Night Performace ' Call  for reservations and ticket information.  Location of the PCPA Theater is in Solvang. 
       Country Dancing and Music at the Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez 
       Restaurants and other entertainment. Check the Web and Independent for events 
       Indian Gaming at the Chumash Casino 
       Lounging around camp, evening hike, star gazing, campfire, drinking 

Saturday Activities Available in Santa Ynez and Solvang Areas 

       Wine tasting tours a la Sideways
       Lots of wine tasting cafes in both Solvang and Los Olivos 
       Shopping
       Horse drawn carriage rides
       Golf
       Swimming at Red Rock Pond near campsite
       Hiking in Las Padres National Forest
       Great Bike Riding ' to wineries or around countryside
       Group picnic to Firestone winery and view point picnic ground (two great sources for 'to go' picnic fare)
       Lunch at the celebrated Los Olivos Café
       Many art galleries and the Wilding Art Museum
       Short drive to scenic Najoqui Falls (unsure of correct spelling, but know how to get there) 

We can go separate ways Saturday, but all return to camp in time for cocktail party, dinner, and campfire!
