The Culture of Celebrity: At What Cost to Society? 

Celebrities dominate American culture. They adorn magazine covers; mainstream media covers their comments on political matters as if they were knowledgeable historians or political pundits. In every aspect of life, they appear to be dominant image-makers, style setters and increasingly and disturbingly, influencers of moral and social norms. This discussion will focus on the effects, both positive and negative, to American society.
