Oceanology:
Tidepooling
with Aquarist William Lambert
This will be a private party event for Graduates (and their children or grandchildren!) to explore Santa Barbara tide pools with a trained guide from the Ty Warner Sea Center. Mr. Lambert will uncover hidden animals and provide insight into their behavior and biology. Tidepooling requires a willingness to get wet, so dress appropriately. Date: Sunday, March 18 from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m. Cost: We have negotiated a special price of $15 per person (under member's cost of $20). Reservations: Yes! Space
is limited, so please call before February 20th to make your reservation.
Call Polly Clement at 805-884-9280 and on confirmation send your check
made out to SB Museum of Natural History to Polly at 2051 Cliff Drive,
Unit 18, Santa Barbara CA 93109.

| A report from a participant: Attached
is photo of a Sea Haut- photo can't do it justice, as it has black spot
and some white when one would think fins would be. It moves in the
tidal zone and eat seaweeds. We also found a 2 spot Octopus, quite
small, about 12 across. ( Did not get a photo) It was a good trip.
Lady holding the animal is Mr. Lamberts assistant. He also identified
many other plants and animals , including Giant Kelp, Tunicates (sp) olive
snails, Tube worms, limpets (sp)Surf Grass, and much, much more.
