Stanhophea orchid - open

Stanhophea orchid - buds
Thank you for joining me on the tour of the UCSB grounds and greenhouse.  On Monday the Stanhophea orchid opened so I attached two pictures.  On these you can see the open one and the other just the buds.

Also the name of the grass seed I gave to Eldon is Stipa tenuissima  but they recently changed the name to nassella tenuissima.

The taller red wavy grass is pennisetum seteceum ruberum  or purple fountain grass.

Loropetalum or Chinese fringe flower was the shrub with the little pink fringe flower.

There are several different leaf colors  from green to purple and mixed. The flowers on the green one are white.  They bloom most of the year.

Leucadendron 'Safari Sunset' is the shrub with the red flower head and stays red most of the year.

Happy gardening
Joan
