|
Viva
La Fiesta - Annual Carriage Decoration
When: Thursday, July
31, 5:30-10:00pm.
Description: Come join
us and help decorate wonderful vintage horse-drawn carriages for Friday's
Old Spanish Days Parade. This is the 14th year that Newcomers has participated
in this way, and the evening is rewarding and a lot of fun. We will meet
for margaritas and Mexican food and then we will break into teams guided
by Newcomer decorating "experts" to work on individual carriages. Refreshments,
food, and desserts will be available throughout the evening.
Recommended: We will
be working outside so come dressed in jeans or casual attire, a jacket
or sweatshirt, and comfortable shoes because we will be standing all evening.
Bring plant clippers and/or strong scissors, and a pair of gardening gloves
because we will be working with fresh flowers. You might want to bring
a folding chair and a camera.
Reservations: Yes, to
plan for food and drinks. We can have a maximum of 100 people. Former Newcomers
and other guests are welcome, but no one under 21 will be admitted.
Call or E-mail Beginning:
9am, Monday, June 16.
Contact: Denise Stevens.
Cost: $18. Checks payable to
SB Newcomers and received by July 21 will hold your place. Please send check to
Laura Silberstein. |
