The Unitarian Concert Series Presents
Pianist Zeynep Ucbasaran
May 4th at 3:00 p.m. in a program of Chopin
Outstanding pianist Zeynep
Ucbasaran returns to the Unitarian Society to present a program of Chopin
Ballades and Scherzi which promises to be delightful! She played several
of these pieces last weekend at the Santa Barbara Music Club concert and
received an standing ovation from a very enthusiastic audience.
Zeynep began music studies
at age four at the Istanbul Conservatory and then studied in Budapest where
received her Concert Artist Diploma from the Liszt Academy of Music. She
obtained her advanced graduate degrees in Piano Performance from Hochschule
für Musik, Freiburg, Germany and her MA and Doctorate of Piano Performance
from University of Southern California. She has given many concerts in
Europe, the Middle East and the US. She made her debut in Wigmore Hall
in New Your City in November 2004.
She has recorded a varied
repertoire for Eroica Classical Recordings over the past several years
and her recording of Turkish composer A. A. Saygun's solo piano works has
just been released by Naxos International. She now lives in Santa Barbara
with her husband who is a professor at UCSB.
A reception will follow the
recital where you can meet the artist and view her award winning CDs.
The Unitarian Society is
