Wildflower Hike April 30, 2008 @9:00 AM
Are you ready for the “Graduates
Wildflower hike”? This is rather late notice but we’re at the mercy of
the wildflowers.
This time we will have locally
well known Naturalist, Steve Timbrook, as our special guide. He will enrich
the experience with little known but fasinating facts about our native
plants, and about local animals and geography.
Time and place
We will leave promptly at
9:00 from the Natural History Museum Parking Lot, 2559 Puesta Del Sol.
(Be there 10 minutes early). We will caravan to the 19 Oaks Trailhead (about
40 Minutes), and conclude the hike with a discussion of our experience
and a picnic lunch (Bring you own). We expect to be returning to the parking
lot at about 1:30 PM.
What to wear and bring
Be prepared for mildly cold
moments and generally warm weather. Hiking boots or shoes will be better
than tennis shoes.
You will want water, sunscreen,
and perhaps binoculars. Don’t forget lunch.
Signing up
We are limited to 20 participants
so apply promptly via e-mail. If you do not have
access to e-mail call Norman Jacobs to leave a message. Immediately mail your
check ($10.00 per person) made out to ‘The Graduates’ to Norm Jacobs.
