Behind the Scenes
at the Gibbon and EEEWW exhibits
February 3, 2008
|
Question: Would you
like to feel a snake
and get up close and personal
with a toad and turtle as well?
Don't miss this special
treat at the Santa Barbara Zoo.
When: Meet at 11 am
just outside the Zoo ticket office
First we'll visit the gibbon
holding area and talk about these fascinating animals' territoriality,
vocalizations and how, although they appear cute and cuddly, they can be
deceptively fierce. Then the tour will go behind the scenes at EEEWW where
we ll learn that there are often misconceptions about snakes, lizards and
toads in the opposite way; for example, some people believe that snakes
are slimy and toads give you warts.
Cost: The
tour price is $10 (bring your Zoo ID if you are a member). Non-members
also
pay the $11 price of admission ($8 for seniors). This might be a good time
to join this worthy organization. Memberships are $45 for an individual,
$55 for a couple and $75 for a family.
Would those Grads
who have not already sent their Zoo tour checks to Nan Cisney please send
checks for the tour only for $10 per person, made out to "SB Zoo."
You will either pay for your own Zoo admission separately or else enter
through membership.
Nan wants to remind you
that this tour was given before only for the docents and then only for
the gibbon part. This will be a really unique tour; several spots
are still available.
Send your checks
for $10, made out to the Santa Barbara Zoo, to
Nan Cisney
Reservations will be made
in the order of checks received.
Don't wait to reserve. This
will be an intimate and customized tour limited to only ten people.
Don't be left out.
Park in the zoo parking
lot and meet Valerie Olson, our tour guide, just outside the zoo entrance.
