It
is almost that time of year again. We have been invited to join the Newcomers
again to help decorate the carriages for the Fiesta Parade. For those who
have missed this event, but like live flowers, do plan to join in. It is
fantastic fun. The Newcomer message is below. Please follow their directions
for signing up for this event.
Graduates are invited to
this annual event.
Join us for the annual festivities-
margaritas, flowers, food and fun!
When: Thursday, August
6th, 5:30 - 9:30 pm
Description: Come
join us to help decorate wonderful vintage, horse-drawn carriages for the
Old Spanish Days Parade. This will be the 15th year that the Newcomers
club has contributed to the community in this way with a rewarding and
fun evening. We will meet for margaritas and Mexican food and then we will
break into teams guided by Newcomer decorating experts to work on flower
arrangements for individual carriages. Refreshments, food and desserts
will be available throughout the evening. We will be working outside, so
come in casual attire, with comfortable shoes for working. A light jacket
or sweater is prudent for later in the evening. Other recommendations:
Bring plant clippers (marked with your name if you choose), gardening gloves,
a hat or visor, a folding chair, a camera and photos of flower arrangements
for ideas on color and style. Hope to see you all there!

House Museum, 129 Castillo Street, Santa Barbara
Directions: From the
North - From North, exit 101 Fwy at Castillo, turn right (toward Ocean)
to 129 Castillo. From South, exit 101 Fwy at Bath, merge onto Bath, turn
left at Haley, turn left onto Castillo and drive to 129 Castillo. It is
on the right of Pershing Park. Turn into the driveway just before the baseball
diamond and park in that parking lot. Carriage Museum is all the way back
of parking lot. Follow the Newcomer signs. |
