The Graduates attended a very informative meeting with city planners on 2-24-10. City planners told us about the many processes that are involved in planning city projects and the process developers must go through to obtain permits to build. We were also able to review many projects presently in the process of review. Projects such as: the lower State Street Entrada project, the Fess Parker and new hotel on Cabrillo, The new youth hostel, the condominium projects on Chapala, the Sandman Inn on upper State Street, Elings Park project and other projects in the works. The city planners told us that many of these projects have been stalled because of the economy. Cuts in the City Planning department is also being affected by the economy. All of those in attendance were very pleased with the professionalism of the presenters and the screen presentations made showing us much of the detailed maps of areas either under construction or in the plans for new construction.
The event was attended by: Lilyan Cuttler, Lynda Whitley, Peter Schenck, Sybil Mueller, Russ Mueller, Bob Miles, Dianne Miles, Milt Hess, Cecia Hess, Roxana Anson, Ellen Lilley, Bob Lilley, Tina Coffin, Dwight Coffin, Genie Gable, Polly Clement, Robin Madden, Roger Hoyt, Nan Holt, Ilan Levi., Dale Charpentier
and Ellie Freese.
