Santa Barbara Newcomers hosts
an evening with the Graduates author of "Newcomers in Paradise"
The Graduates are invited to
the home of Newcomers Nan and John Bedford, to hear Bob Fulmer discuss
his book "Newcomers in Paradise."
When: Thursday,
July 8th at 7:30 p.m.
Description: Come listen
to Bob Fulmer discuss his new book, Newcomers in Paradise. This book is
of particular interest to Newcomers, as the author is a past member of
Newcomers and current member of The Graduates. The book is the story of
Bob and Pat's search for Paradise,. the joy of 600 new best friends, found
via the Newcomers Club, and finally, the travails of renovating a local
diva's Spanish Revival home from the 1920's. It's full of local tidbits
and is written in the engaging style reminiscent of Peter Mayle with a
Southern accent. Bob openly discusses the ups and downs of figuring out
a new community and making friends, stories and issues we all can relate
to!
The book is delightful, as
is Bob. He is quite the presenter: he taught management and leadership
at Columbia and Emory Universities, was a Visiting Scholar at MIT, and
held endowed chairs at Trinity, William and Mary, and Pepperdine. He knows
how to engage and weave a delightful tale. The books are available at Amazon.com,
Borders, Chaucer's and Tecolote. See the book's website, newcomersinparadise.com,
for a preview.
